Recently during an unplanned shopping spree, I have stumbled upon these products by Bench. Prior to this, I am already considering in purchasing the nature republic aloe soothing gel- a product very similar to the one on the left. However, what pushed me to buy this instead was the fact that it was cheaper AND during this time, they were having a buy one get one half off promo; if you buy the aloe mist, you can get the aloe gel for fifty percent off.
Bench Organics: 94% Aloe Soothing Gel
For a product that costs less than two hundred pesos, this moisturizing gel sure has a lot of claims. But the best thing among all of it is its prime ingredient: aloe vera- a medium that is known for a lot of its healing benefits. Who doesn't want that, right? Furthermore, it is multipurpose: you can use it as a facial and body moisturizer. So instead of buying those products separately, you can have it in this compact, 300 mL, container.
Listed at the back of the container are the ingredients and instructions on how to fully maximize the product. The ingredients that stood out to me the most are: Glycerin- which if you are a make-up junkee like I am, you would know that cosmetics adhere to the skin properly if your base has glycerin (the one that makes it sticky) in it and the tea tree extract - a component best suited for acne prone skin. Furthermore, this product states that it will make your skin smooth and hydrated with no oily residue. A claim that is very much true based on my experience. The only thing that can be bothersome with this product is the sticky feeling after you apply it on your face (or body). But after a good minute, the stickiness will slowly vanish. When it comes to scent on the other hand, this has a very faint but refreshing smell of aloe vera. Also, true to its instruction, this is best use after you put it in the refrigerator. What I do is I leave it for about 10 to 20 minutes inside the freezer for a cooler effect then apply it liberally on my face after I take a shower and before I sleep. Truly this product has improved my skin for only a couple of days. Before this, my skin was so dry because of my recent trip to another country and I can confidently say that this saved my skin.
Overall, I highly- HIGHLY recommend this product. It is so versatile and affordable in its nature which makes this very easy for you to maintain in your vanity.
Bench Organics : Aloe Vera Face and Body Mist
Facial mist in a nutshell is just water with a lot of minerals that aims to refresh and revitalize your skin. To some, it serves as a primer and to others, a setting spray. In my case, I use this product for both. Now, it might seem a little pricey for a lot to pay 200+ on basically, water. BUT, as I have said, this has active ingredients that can improve your skin. Also, this is made of aloe vera - an organic ingredient. However, unlike the gel, this does not leave your skin sticky at all.
This mist is contained inside a spray bottle that is very convenient for traveling (not so much when you are passing through TSA's but you get the point). Moreover, this has a good 5.1 FL. OZ. or 150 mL amount of product. Just like the aloe gel, this has a faint refreshing smell of aloe vera in it. So aside from using it as a primer water or a setting spray, I deem that you can maximize this product more during out of town beach or trekking trips.
Now, the verdict. Do I like it? absolutely. But between the two products, which one would I get? I see better results with the gel but if you are looking for a good mist for dry skin, this is it. I would actually prefer this over the Loreal Infalliable setting spray. Would I repurchase this? Yes. These products makes me want to look for more organic skin care. And this is so affordable - more affordable that my coveted Celeteque moisturizer that I love which also costs under two hundred bucks for a hundred mL of product. But with this you'll get triple than that. So two mega thumbs up for Bench. :)
